Burkina Faso has had the support of the World Bank in order to provide Burkina with international transmission infrastructure as well as internet capacity to work to reduce the digital divide.
The MDENP with the support of PRICAO was able to set up the transmission infrastructure (fiber optic network of international interconnection), the network infrastructure (Capacity Hotel) and the acquisition of 5 Gbps Internet capacity through a service contract with Togo Telecom which launched the supply since May 1, 2018.
At the same time, the PAV was created and its operationalization was launched as soon as the capacity was provided.
During the 2018 financial year, we launched the marketing from December 2018 for active members of the PAV with a reduced staff.
From early 2019, the PAV is fully operational and working to manage day-to-day activities.
